queer bar & theatre
This COVID-19 situation changes faster than a drag queen can read. The governor of New York has ordered all bars and restaurants to close for on-site food and beverage sales as of 8 p.m. on March 16th. Unfortunately, this means that Wunderbar will need to shut its doors for the time being. We don’t know how long we will need to stay closed, but you can bet that we will re-open as soon as possible. We are heartbroken to not be able to have our community drinking, laughing, and making art in our space, one which we have worked hard to make the most welcoming in Syracuse.
BUT, we are keeping close track of this ever-evolving situation and have some ideas swirling around for how we come out the other side. Keep checking back for updates.
For now, we will be working with anyone who has booked events with us and do what we can to reschedule. If this is you, please email email@example.com to be in touch. If you have been thinking about booking something for later this year, but haven’t gotten around to it, GET IN TOUCH!
In the meantime, consider purchasing a gift card online to redeem when this is all over. Purchases you make now at ours and any other local, independent businesses, will help us all see brighter days.
And please remember all the artists out there - think about it... DJs, drag queens, actors, dancers, musicians -- due to social distancing and event cancellations in our region, local artists are completely at risk of drastically losing their livelihoods. As you hunker down, remember that the book you are reading, the television show you are watching, the music you are listening to, are all available to you because of artists.
Love and health to you all. See you soon.
